At the Zoo with Big Grandad

The latest on the whole crew

The kids love playing poker with me. They all bring their own strengths. Will has “Gaga’s luck” aka – will get a natural 4 of a kind or a royal flush at any time. Evan is learning the art of the bluff, and Cora plays the “beginner” but I can see her thinking more/understanding the game (aka – not afraid to fold).

When it is in the 60s in February – a nice trip to the zoo is always a good way to spend a Sunday.
Here is Will at kickboxing all set to go. I call him Canelo (cinnamon in Spanish) because he reminds me of one of my favorite boxers Canelo Alverez who also has red hair.
Some of my favorite (and not so favorite…poison oak) memories happened behind Jefferson school in the playground. We spent hours each day playing kickball, football, and most our most favorite sport – wiffle ball. After telling the kids about a number of my childhood stories – I decided it would be fun to take them there and play some wiffle ball with them by the house I grew up in. We all had a great time!
New house = new garden. The kids all eagerly helped start the new garden this year. We are starting with an existing garden area and making it bigger. Stay tuned to see the end result in the next few weeks.
We also planted our herbs this year in pots and the kids helped get all of those ready as well.
