Jack Comes to Stay

Posted by: jzelazny | 1 Comment

The kid’s friend Jack (a few months older than them) came over to stay for the night recently. When Jack arrived the twins were asleep and Jack played with Evan. The next morning the kids all had a good time playing with each other and hanging out until Jack’s parents came and picked him up. Jack was quite excited with all the new toys available for him to explore. They all did a great job sharing toys and playing nicely. We look forward to seeing Jack soon!

Birthday Fun

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

img_3840Well – the first year has come and gone. We had a joint birthday party for the twins this year and had a lot of friends and family come and celebrate with us. Although the weather was not always cooperative – we had a great time eating Portillos and Costco cake as well as playing in the back yard with all kinds of fun toys. Check out the photos so you can see the excitement for yourself!
A big thanks to all that came out and joined us for Cora and Will’s first birthday!

Easter Fun

img_3526 Evan had a fun Easter this year. Denise took him and the twins to see the Easter bunny the week before Easter and then on Easter day we went over to Phil and Ginny’s house for an easter egg hunt, food, and of course fun presents. Check out the new photos of Evan and his Easter fun.

The highlights this year were the sweet rifle the Easter Bunny brought him and the umbrella that Denise bought for him – and of course all the other presents and candy! Thanks to everyone who helped make this a super fun Easter!

Evan the Bowler

Yesterday after school I took Evan to a bowling alley where we met one of his friends for an afternoon game of bowling. Evan was quite upset the yellow ball was too heavy for him but we found a nice blue bowling ball for him. He did pretty good – he got a 56 for his first game…not too bad!

Evan Turns 4

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

Yesterday Evan turned four years old. He woke up, opened presents from family and friends, and then watched his favorite movie (Tom and Jerry Nutcracker). After Denise arrived, Evan and I went to the local donut shop to get donut holes for a birthday treat for his pre-school class. He went in and wanted a peppermint donut (which they had) and then we took it home for him to eat before his class.

After that, I went to work and he played with some of his new toys and enjoyed the morning. Unfortunately – he started complaining about not feeling well and by the time I took him to pre-school he looked wiped out. He was not interested in lunch (not even fire chips) but when he got to school he seems to light up a bit.

When I picked him up, he told me he wanted a nap and after telling him a ghost story (his favorite type of stories) he quickly fell asleep. When he woke up, he opened a few more presents (including the super flying airplane I bought him) but was not very excited with anything.

For dinner – we made plans to take him to Portillos and then to Chuck E Cheese with his friend Caden and his dad. He did not even eat his french fries let alone his hot dog, and by the time we got to Chuck E Cheese – he looked wiped out again. After 30 minutes or so of playing games, we sat down to have cup cakes, but he instead of wanting a cup cake, wanted to go home. At that point we knew he was not feeling well.

Turns out he had a slight fever, so after some medicine, he went to bed without arguing. No one likes to be sick – especially on his birthday, but he woke up this morning feeling much better and super excited to play with all the new toys he got.

Thanks to Uncle Mike (and family) and the Reid family for calling and singing Happy Birthday!

Evan’s 4th Birthday Party!

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

img_2578Evan and all his friends had quite an exciting birthday party last week. We had the Traveling World of Reptiles come and give a fun filled hour + presentation on reptiles. We had a 150lb python, a tortoise, crocodile, lizards, etc in our home as Dave talked to everyone about the reptile’s natural habitats, the dangers of having them as pets, and how to interact with them.

Overall – I think everyone of all ages enjoyed the show and were pleasantly surprised how much fun it was. After the show, we all enjoyed Portillos and Costo cake.

Here are some pictures from the big event. A big thanks to all those that came out for the celebration.

Evan and His Friend Sallie

Ever since Evan was born – our friend Sallie has had a special relationship with him. She met Evan within the first few days of his life, did weekly video chats with him when he was 1/2 and has spent a good deal of time with him in the last 3+ years. A few weeks ago, Sallie came over, spent the night and had a good time with all the kids. Evan helped make pancakes for Sallie and then off we went to the Legoland – one of E’s favorite things to do.

We had a blast and are excited to see Sallie again soon!

Evan and the Alpaca

When we were in NY last week – we went to one of my friend’s house who raise Alpaca. We were fortunate enough to get a history of the Alpacas, pet some, and see a lot of the amazing things they do with the Alpaca fur. Thanks to Mager Mountain Alpacas and my childhood neighbor Tiff for the tour!

Evan at the Treehouse

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

Today Evan, Cora, Will, Grandad and I went to a play place called Treehouse, basically an indoor treehouse where the kids can just climb and run around and burn energy. Evan loves the place, so it made me happy that the twins were somewhat calm when we were there. Evan did a nice job playing with a lot of random friends and his two friends Caden and Emma, while Sharon, Rob, my father and I chatted on the side.

The pictures may look a little weird because we had to take many shots through the netting around the treehouse.
