The latest on the whole crew
Now that Evan is walking more and more, he has found that he can now pull himself up using Triscuit. Triscuit has been really patient with him (I think it is because he constantly feeds her) and Evan has learned to “pet her gently”. I keep telling Triscuit to be patient because I know in a few years Evan will take her for walks and play with her in the backyard!
I have added some new photos of Evan including more first haircut, sledding, and other cute photos we have taken over the last two weeks. Last Friday Evan and I went over to a former co-worker’s house who has three boys and had a great time as you will see in the pictures!
Evan had his first haircut last weekend. On Saturday we went to a friend who cuts hair in Des Plaines and had her cut Evan’s hair. He loved the cape (or whatever it is called) that he got to wear, especially when he figured out where the velcro was 
He was looking and moving all over, but in the end his hair looks great and he have a few locks for the scrapbook. Thanks Ginny for taking time out to cut his hair!
Evan now can point to his nose and teeth (when he is in the mood). In addition to that, he has begun pointing at things he wants or likes and it is quite cute. The picture of him was taken at our friends’ baby shower (Sarah and Brett). Evan is quite excited to have another little friend very soon!
Evan had a fun and busy day on his first birthday. His Grandma Z was in town to help celebrate and about thirty or so other friends came to his party. We got Portillos catered in, along with some of Mrs. R’s famous mostacolli, and some amazing chips and salsa from a neighborhood bar (along with Coca Cola products, beer, and an awesome cake from Costco). I have posted some pictures from the big day – he was exhausted (and missed his morning nap), but he made it through the whole day without any meltdowns until after he went to sleep.
Evan enjoyed his first Thanksgiving with Amy, me, and the Rominskis. We had a lot of good food and Evan liked everything except the cranberry sauce. Here are a few pictures from the big day (which is now Evan’s favorite holiday).
A few weeks ago, we went to a Greyhound event with some of our two legged and four legged friends. They just sent us some pictures and I chose two to share – one of Evan and one of Triscuit. Evan had a good time watching all the dogs and needless to say, by the end of the day, he was exhausted.
Evan has been keeping us busy over the last few weeks! He has all kinds of new tricks. He really enjoys pulling himself up on whatever he can (toys, couches, tables, etc) and likes to now throw things. He also gets a big kick out of snorting (video to come soon) and he absolutely loves balloons. I have included a few pictures from our babysitter who took these in the last two weeks.
A big thanks to Aunt Kathy for coming out to visit us for a few days. We had a lot of fun playing, starting to crawl (only towards Triscuit and her bones), taking walks, and discovering a really cool playground a few blocks away. It is always nice to have family visit…and no visit is complete without a trip to Wildfire. Evan sat in a high chair and behaved like a nice gentleman! Check out the new August photos!
Last weekend, we went to Lake Carroll. Some of our friends have a lake house there and we went up on Friday to spend some time with them and relax. Evan enjoyed his time at the lake house and even had his first boat ride. He had to wear a life jacket which was quite hot, and by the time the boat got moving – he was pretty tired so he napped, but he looks forward to boating again! Be sure to check out the summer photos.
