week 30 here and gone.

week 30

Some days time seems to fly while other days feel like an eternity. Amy is now in week 30 of her pregnancy and is doing great. She is starting to get to the uncomfortable stage where no position feels quite comfortable to sit or sleep, but other than that everything is going well. I took a few pictures (there is another picture of her in the picture section from last night) of Amy this morning and last night so everyone can see her. For a small person, her stomach is huge. Amy often apologizes to Evan for not having more space for him :).

shower at school.

After school today my friends and colleagues had a shower for myself and three other women (two other mommies-to-be and one just married). It was very nice of them and Jen and I (and Evan) appreciate all the nice gifts we received. Two items I am especially excited about are the blankets – one is one and blue and the other is a very close Penn State blue – they are so soft and I know Evan will love them (Lisa’s little Eve has a similar blanket and loves it). Again, thank you to all of my friends!

nursery furniture.

We purchased our nursery furniture back in August and finally today, I got a delivery date. We will have our nursery completed – with furniture – on October 28th. I am sure Amy can find a link to the set we got so everyone can have a sneak preview.

week 29.

We had our week 29 appointment today and all is well! I have gained 4 more pounds, which they say is right on track…one pound per week. My blood pressure was 128/80something, which is higher for me but the nurse assured me that it was still within normal range and the blood pressure does increase as we get closer to the big day. The actual appointment with the doctor was quick…I have always been very healthy and it continues through my pregnancy, which is great. That’s about it…short and sweet. My next appointment is October 30th, I will be almost 32 weeks!

go bears!

It seems as though young Evan is a Bears fan. All throughout the game he was kicking and moving. In general, it seems as though he likes football quite a bit – except for Notre Dame football…but that is ok with us. We are hoping this is “the year” the Bears go all the way so Evan’s first Superbowl is a good one! Go Bears!

uncomfortable.

Poor Amy. No position seems to be comfortable any more. Sitting on the couch is not good, and laying on her back or stomach is out…so it is all about sleeping on her side…which she hates. Only a few more months ;).

looking pregnant, finally.

Amy is a thin person, always has been and probably always will be. I keep trying to get her to drink milkshakes, eat cheese, anything to pack in the calories, but overall she has not gained much weight. She still does ballet three days a week and walks for exercise….and her metabolism is amazing. Finally though, we had to go shopping for maternity clothes. She is barely fitting into the small (some small articles are still too big), but you can see a tummy now! 😉

nursery furniture purchased.

We finally had some luck today and ended up purchasing our nursery furniture. We should have it by October 15th and as soon as it is put in the room, we will send pictures. Of course, we paid for assembly. Our last IKEA purchase was enough to last us for a few months.
