Getting Bigger…

Posted by: jzelazny | 1 Comment

There are some times when Amy and I look at Evan and think “wow – he is getting so big”. He is soon going to be taller than aunt Julie, and then a few months later, taller than me! We have been going through his baby pictures lately to compare his looks with the twins and vice versa. We noticed we have a number of photos of Evan sitting at his chair in the dining room so I decided to take this one so we could do some comparisons over the last few years (and boy has he grown!). I will try to get on the ball and get some more podcasts/videos of him because man does he have a story to tell…

Recently he told Amy:

“Tell Mommy I am getting the hang of being a big boy.”

(Evan’s new thing is to tell someone to tell someone else something.)

He is getting bigger and stronger everyday and I look forward to watching him grow even more!

Just Like Mommy, Evan Loves the Snow

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

photo1Evan, Amy, and I enjoyed a day outside shoveling, throwing snowballs, and walking on the snow. Evan loved every minute being outside and did not complain about being cold – even after being out for over an hour. He enjoyed the “snow seat” and igloo I made for him out of snow piles and snow drifts. Check out the photos with more pictures of Evan and the crazy snow we got in the last day here in Chicago.

Yes or No?

Posted by: jzelazny | 1 Comment

In the last few months Evan has come up with a couple statements/comments that just make us laugh.

Two examples…
1. Evan likes to give options- Can I play on the computer? Yes or no? I love it, so he thinks I may not know what the possible options are that he needs to give them to me. Love it.

2. When most of us refer to something being the opposite of up-side-down as right-side-up. Well Evan is not to sure about that statement, so he says up-side-up. It bring a smile to my face every time.

New October 2010 Photos

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

Evan and Cora I finally emptied the camera and uploaded some of my favorite photos from the last two weeks. There are some photos of the kids in their new toys (which Amy thinks makes things about 5% easier now – with some more options), the kids eating their first bite of food, and of everyone hanging around. Their big brother Evan enjoys the new toys too. He really likes gently pushing everyone around in their toys as well as playing with the kids when they are playing on the floor. Check out the latest photos.

Photos From the Last Week

Will in his chair We are constantly getting requests for “some updated photos on the web site”. Generally we have a hard time getting a lot (or any) because by the time someone finds the camera, and the camera’s battery actually has a charge, there are two kids that need some sort of attention. Once that crisis is over – we are either too tired or have completely forgot to get the camera again for the photo. I have been trying to make an effort to take some more photos – generally when at least one of them is sleeping so here you go: a few new pictures. I will try and be better about taking/uploading them in the next coming weeks/years 😉

The Ladies’ Man

Well – I cannot say this for sure, but I think I witnessed Evan’s first kiss yesterday. Ginny and I picked him up from pre-school and on his way out he was looking around for his friend to say goodbye. He found her, gave her a big hug, and then kissed her on the lips and told her he would miss her. Ginny and I both had to laugh a little – as did the girl’s mother. Look out ladies – Evan is on the prowl 😉

Our Dinner Guest

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

If you have ever been with us at dinner time – you know it is not a relaxing time by any means. This tends to be the twin’s fussy time and it is usually a tag team event (“You eat first, then I will eat when you are done”). Last night I decided to bring an antsy Cora to the table (I was holding the chair with one hand – do not worry). She loves to sit up and see all the action and this was perfect – as Amy, Evan, and I were able to eat a somewhat enjoyable dinner together. I am glad she liked the chair – but the entire time she was sitting there I had to smile because she reminded me of the Lincoln monument in Washington DC with her hands on the chair, etc.

Where Do You Live?

Posted by: jzelazny | 1 Comment

On our way to Evan’s class today – I was grilling him about what his full name was, where he lives, etc in case something were to happen and I got a kick out of this:

Jen: “Evan – where do you live?”
Evan: “Earth”

Is that my kid or what?

Sharing With Everyone

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

If there is one thing we are learning – it is how to share pretty much everything. Amy and I share the responsibility of feeding/bathing/changing/holding someone, Evan shares us with the twins, the twins share toys and space, and Colby seems to just take whatever we have left. Here are some pictures of all this sharing.

Hanging Out With Evan

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

Here is a quick shot taken by the babysitter of the twins hanging out with Evan…or more likely Evan hanging out with the twins. On a similar note, Just when I thought Evan was tired of the babies (when they cry) – he told Amy last night he wanted one more brother or sister. Unfortunately for him – that is not in the plans 😉
