What Happened at Pre-school?

Posted by: jzelazny | 2 Comments

Each Tuesday and Thursday I look forward to coming home and hearing about what Evan said at preschool – I always hope for good news.

Last week we heard about how Evan corrected his teacher while she read One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. It seems she is not a big fan of the book and she was trying to skip some pages or at least some words to get through the fairly long book quicker. Well Evan, who practically has the book memorized, mentioned several times that she was saying the “wrong word” (one of his catch phrases) and skipping pages. She loves Evan but all you teachers know how we do not appreciate the student who constantly correct us – hopefully his cuteness helps her look past the corrections. 🙂

Fun Sledding

Evan and I – along with our friends Phil and Ginny – took Evan sledding yesterday at a nearby park. In Illinois – the only hills are either retention ponds or land fills so “natural” sledding hills are not very common. We all had a blast and hope to go again soon.

Don’t Eat the Blue Ice

Posted by: jzelazny | 1 Comment

Yesterday, Denise picked up Evan from his pre-school class and returned with a funny story. Evan loves snow and eating snow. Just before pre-school I found him eating snow off the parking lot which I quickly told him not to do, but on the way out of his pre-school he saw something that interested him: blue ice (blue salt to melt the ice). Apparently he saw it and thought it was some sort of super treat that came with the snow and picked some up, put it in his mouth and quickly spit it out.

While Denise quickly yelled at him – it became a good lesson. Not everything that looks exciting is good for you – even if it is blue!

“I’m so happy I missed you”

This is what Evan says to us whenever we see him in the evenings when we (jen) pick him up from Denise’s house. I think it is the sweetest thing, because he combines two statements that kinda makes the two statement void each other out. But you know what he means and it is the cutest thing. I had to share with every one.
