Now that Evan is walking more and more, he has found that he can now pull himself up using Triscuit. Triscuit has been really patient with him (I think it is because he constantly feeds her) and Evan has learned to “pet her gently”. I keep telling Triscuit to be patient because I know in a few years Evan will take her for walks and play with her in the backyard!
Here is a video of all of us outside in the snow during the big snow storm we got two weeks ago.
Yesterday Evan gave me something that was amazing, no not the caramel chocolates for Valentine’s day (although they were good). He gave me his first official hug. We were on the floor together, watching Guiding Light of course, and he crawled over and put his arms around my shoulders and hugged…it was precious. Of course I did not want to let him go. 🙂
Yesterday Evan took his first official walk. He took about 8-10 steps from one couch to the other. Since then he has taken a few more…walking a little and then falling down. Any day now he will be ready to walk all the time. It is funny because we cheer and then he has to stop and clap along with us. We will try to get some video soon…but I think that is going to be a little more difficult.
I have added some new photos of Evan including more first haircut, sledding, and other cute photos we have taken over the last two weeks. Last Friday Evan and I went over to a former co-worker’s house who has three boys and had a great time as you will see in the pictures!

Evan had his first haircut last weekend. On Saturday we went to a friend who cuts hair in Des Plaines and had her cut Evan’s hair. He loved the cape (or whatever it is called) that he got to wear, especially when he figured out where the velcro was 😉 He was looking and moving all over, but in the end his hair looks great and he have a few locks for the scrapbook. Thanks Ginny for taking time out to cut his hair!
It is funny how I will catch Evan doing some things that are exactly like Amy and myself. Evan and I both double fist vegetables. Everyone knows how much I love broccoli and cauliflower. Evan is very similar to Amy when it comes to wanting to have his feet on someone or something at all times and whenever he eats, he always has to have his feet on my leg. It is pretty darn cute!
Evan’s latest trick is to open up whatever drawers he can. In the bathroom, his bedroom, our bedroom – wherever he can get into. We have had to resort to keeping our bathroom doors closed and have walked into his room after he was in there for awhile with the bottom drawer empty. He is getting pretty good though at putting items back in the drawer – just not very folded…we will work on that.
