Evan wanted to talk about the recent updates in his life. Enjoy.
Evan had his first haircut last weekend. On Saturday we went to a friend who cuts hair in Des Plaines and had her cut Evan’s hair. He loved the cape (or whatever it is called) that he got to wear, especially when he figured out where the velcro was ๐ He was looking and moving all over, but in the end his hair looks great and he have a few locks for the scrapbook. Thanks Ginny for taking time out to cut his hair!
It is funny how I will catch Evan doing some things that are exactly like Amy and myself. Evan and I both double fist vegetables. Everyone knows how much I love broccoli and cauliflower. Evan is very similar to Amy when it comes to wanting to have his feet on someone or something at all times and whenever he eats, he always has to have his feet on my leg. It is pretty darn cute!
Evan’s latest trick is to open up whatever drawers he can. In the bathroom, his bedroom, our bedroom – wherever he can get into. We have had to resort to keeping our bathroom doors closed and have walked into his room after he was in there for awhile with the bottom drawer empty. He is getting pretty good though at putting items back in the drawer – just not very folded…we will work on that.
This is a typical bath time with Evan…
Evan is a pretty mobile guy – crawling 100mph from one room to another but he every once an awhile he needs to check in with his blanket. ๐ He likes to pull it out of his crib if he is tired and sometimes just takes a pit stop in front of his crib and smells it through the crib bars. This is very interesting to me as I was not a blanket person at all.
Mr. Evan took his first step tonight. He was holding on to the couch, Amy called him, and he took a step away (very sturdy) and went to Amy. We are very proud of him. Now to warn Pita, Salsa, and Triscuit…
Over the past few weeks Evan has really gotten into the “sharing” mode. Whatever he has in his hands (his blanket, food, toys, etc) he now likes to give it to you, then nicely take it back, then give it to you again. This is pretty darn cute…especially the blanket sharing as he loves to smell his blanket and when he gives it to you, he expects you to smell it too. I know a few people who will appreciate that. ๐
Here is a sample of our typical Wednesday morning chats. Enjoy!
Evan now can point to his nose and teeth (when he is in the mood). In addition to that, he has begun pointing at things he wants or likes and it is quite cute. The picture of him was taken at our friends’ baby shower (Sarah and Brett). Evan is quite excited to have another little friend very soon!
