Amy has been after me to post some updated pictures, so here you go – Spring 2007 photos.
While Amy was at dance, Evan and I took a break from watching golf to create our first of many podcasts. He is a little shy, but promises to say more in future episodes. My grandfather used to record my sister and I when we were kids and I loved to hear my voice as a child years later, so here we go!
When I was home with Evan for fifteen weeks, I would put him to bed or down for a nap and not really think about going in and checking on him. But I have been back at work for a few weeks now and I am happy to be back, but do I miss seeing our little guy. On my ballet nights, I leave before he is awake and get home after he has gone to bed so I do not even see him. I think it is funny how I go into his room, put my head on the edge of the crib and just stare at him. I am glad he is too young to realize what I am doing because he would probably think I was/am crazy. He is just so adorable and I cannot get enough of him…I think I may go sneak a peak now :).
I went over to pick Evan up last night at the R’s house (babysitters) and when I walked in the house Evan was in his favorite chair just chilling out with a few people watching TV – more specifically the Food Network. If you know Amy, she is obsessed with the Food Network and watches it like most men watch ESPN. I made my usual comment when I see the Food Network on the TV “Oh, man more Food Network??” – because I can only take so much of this channel. Denise – his babysitter – then told me he for some reason prefers to watch the Food Network when he watches TV. She tried to put cartoons on and he just turned away and looked at her, but one day when she had the Food Network on, he watched it intensely. I got a huge kick out of this…and also realized I needed to get some History Channel time in with Evan so he will like that as well. Before anyone says anything to me about TV watching – I agree too much TV, like anything else, is not good for anyone, but I have no problem with Evan watching some TV during the day.
Evan has been spending a lot of time lately watching at her sister Triscuit. Whenever we go on walks together, Evan watches Triscuit’s every move…same in the house. Triscuit as well as the cats have been wonderful with Evan. Yesterday Triscuit got really close (as seen in the picture) to Evan and laid down. For all those that know Triscuit, you know she is a pretty hands off dog, so I though this was pretty cute. Just wait until he starts pulling on her!
A few weeks ago our good friend Ken came out to visit. I finally got around to importing and organizing the pictures. We had a good time – perhaps too good as Evan did not want to sleep at all during the day when Ken was here. I am sure Evan could sense the fun Ken and I were having. Thanks for visiting Ken!
Here is a video of Evan’s first taste of solid foods.
Today we went in for Evan’s four month checkup. Evan is now 26.5 inches tall and weighs 16 pounds. The doctor is very happy with his consistent growth and thinks it is time to start introducing solid foods. We are going to start him on rice cereal tomorrow so I will be sure to take some video of his first spoon eating experience.
Here is a quick video of Evan and Amy hanging out. Note the noise after the sneezes – he has the best little noises.
Evan is now four months old, but we wanted to share his three month picture (better late than never!). He is growing so fast! He is still a great sleeper and mellow for the most part of the day. He likes watching his sister Triscuit, Guiding Light, bubbles, and formula. He spends most of his day playing with toys, taking naps, and trying to talk….oh and he also enjoys drooling a lot.
