Here is a lovely “Jingle Bells” rendition along with Cora’s “Dora the Explorer” song mixed in with some greetings from Will.
Hard to believe Evan has been in pre-school for two years and now has graduated. I will definitely miss walking with him to his school and seeing his little friends that I have watched grow/mature over the past two years. For the big graduation day – the kids performed 2 songs for the parents and then got their diplomas. Evan loved his teachers and will hopefully built some long lasting friendships.
May 19, 2012 update
Will – weight: 29 pounds (63%) height: 35 inches (76%). Will is just amazing – He loves to throw things whether it is a ball or a toy in the house. He loves to talk too, except when his brother and sister won’t shut their mouths :). He is our snuggler.
Cora – weight: 24 pounds (16%) height: 32 inches (15%). Cora continues to be our peanut. The doctor said she is small but proportionate. Cora never stops talking…never! She has so much to say about everything….even things we do not always understand. She is also very dramatic…do not know where she got that from.
Hard to believe Cora and Will are now two years old. For their birthday we had a jam packed day but finished it off with Lou Malnoti’s pizza followed by Portillo’s chocolate cake. (Talk about a Chicago birthday!) Cora and Will had a great time with their Grandma and Grandpa Z as well on their big day. A big thanks for the cards/calls!
Yesterday when I went to pick up Evan from the babysitter’s house I found her son sitting with Evan, some dish soap, and cold water trying to get Evan’s finger out of a plastic pipe. Apparently Evan was trying to put together a pipe maze of sorts for his marbles and got this stuck on his finger. When I got to him he was almost panicking but I got him to think about something else and then got his finger out of the pipe. Good times!
His preschool class had a “Mom’s Spa Night” which entailed a relaxing hour with your preschooler as they gave manicures, massages, and pampered their mothers. Since I am generally the one who is involved with Evan at preschool I thought this would be a great opportunity for Evan to spend time with Amy at his school. As you can see Evan painted Amy’s nails and had a great time spending time with his Mama.
Evan had his first T-Ball game last night and he absolutely loved it. He did a great job with hitting and playing his positions in the field. His favorite of games? His really long red socks.
The kids all love helping in the garden. Evan enjoys wearing his gardening gloves and digging. Cora loved planting the seeds. Will just loves being in the garden. We planted half the garden a few weeks ago with heartier plants: carrots, lettuce, peas, and some peppers. We look forward to another successful garden like last year!
Evan has a friend that he met his first year of pre-school and ever since they love playing together on the playground and at soccer every week. Here is a picture of the two of them after Evan gave her a bracelet (aka one of Amy’s hairbands). She was super excited and just gave him a big hug.
Every year our town has a day in the spring where the local companies bring their “big trucks” so that kids can see them, sit in them, and blow their horns (the neighborhood must love it). Evan and I got there when it was really busy and the lines were pretty long to see anything so we stood in line for the police truck (he wants to be a police officer), and then I had him stand in one of the bull dozer’s buckets (as seen in the photo). We were in line for a cool recycling truck but of course Evan had to go to the bathroom half way though the line – so we just left and hung out with some of his pre-school friends on the playground.
