Evan at the Skydeck

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

While Amy’s dad was here we ventured into the city to eat at Rick Bayless’ restaurant, and then Amy, Evan, and “big Grandad” went up to the Skydeck (in the Willis (ugh) Tower. Evan showed no fear – unlike me who decided that the name change + heights = too much. Evan also enjoyed his rid on the Metra!

Saturday Class Fun

Every week Amy takes the twins to their “class” where they get to sing, play, and have fun with other kids their age.

Cora and will do great in stores while Amy and I shop, but Cora cracks me up with her seat positions. She is either lounging like you see here – or standing. There is no between.

This year Cora dressed up as a Penn State cheerleader and Will as the Penn State Nittany Lion (a costume I have waited 25+ years to buy and was super excited about). They had a good time visiting Amy at school and hanging out in the stroller while their big brother went around the neighborhood getting candy.

We had someone come over to take some pictures of the kids all dressed up in their Penn State gear. Check out the photos to see the kids in action.

Penn State Evan

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

For Halloween we decided to have Cora dress up as a Penn State cheerleader while Will was the Nittany Lion mascot. Since we had two of the three kids in Penn State gear we decided to put Evan’s Penn State jersey on him and have a photographer come in and take some shots. These are just a few of the Evan outtakes.

Evan’s First Penn State Game

Amy and I were planning on going to the Northwestern game (Penn State was in town) and we went back and forth over taking Evan with us. It was a night game, he did not have a nap, would he be interested, etc? At the last minute he asked us if he could go so I of course could not resist. By Evan’s age – I was already committed to going to Penn State so I thought I would give him the same chance. I did not get any commitment from Evan that he wanted to go to Penn State but overall he had a pretty good time.

With that said, if you ask him what his favorite part of the game was he will tell you it was going home. His second favorite thing was getting to hug the Nittany Lion (pretty lucky guy). He also liked screaming with the other fans, and eating the big hot pretzels (he had 2).

Halloween Decorations

Evan really enjoys decorations and one of his favorite (and Amy’s) is our Halloween Winnie the Pooh blow up. Denise put up orange lights on our front bush, Amy put up all kinds of window clings, and a spider web on the back bushes, but each day Evan gets excited when he sees his friend Pooh in the front yard. In this picture, the man of your dreams is holding Pooh’s hand and is super excited he is getting his picture taken with his yard friend.

Goeberts 2011

Posted by: jzelazny | 0 Comments

dsc05846We generally go to a local pumpkin farm (Goeberts) once a year around Halloween to see the sights, buy some pumpkins and donuts and play around. This year we went with Evan’s friends Kelly and Jack. Although it was a very windy day, Evan had a blast playing with Jack, Cora, and Will. At the end we picked out the perfect pumpkin, and enjoyed some treats on the way home. We look forward to going back next year. In the meantime – check out the latest photos from Goeberts.
